Tres presuntos mareros fueron capturados y se remitió al juzgado respectivo a un adolescente de 17 años. El grupo fue detectado en el Puesto de Control Interinstitucional, en la aldea Corinto, Puerto Barrios, Izabal, frontera con Honduras, cuando en una camioneta llevaban escondidas dos pistolas, una de ellas con reporte de robo.
El operativo estuvo a cargo de investigadores de la DIPANDA, policías de la DIPAFRONT y de la SGAIA, quienes le marcaron el alto a una camioneta marca Honda, donde viajaban Armando “N”, de 24 años; Kevin “N”, de 22 años; Darlin “N”, de 18 años; y un menor de 17 años, quienes presuntamente son residentes de la zona 21.
En un área oculta del baúl de la camioneta trasladaban 2 pistolas, 3 tolvas y 42 municiones; una de las armas tiene reporte de robo de fecha 13 de octubre del año 2023, sustraída de una garita de un centro comercial de la zona 10. Además, se les decomisaron 4 celulares que servirán para continuar con la investigación.
Presuntamente, estos individuos pertenecen a alguna mara y trasladaban las armas de fuego desde la capital, pretendiendo entregarlas en una aldea de la frontera con Honduras, posiblemente para realizar ataques armados.
